Had knee op today Saturday, in for 7am and out by 1pm. Lucky was first on theatre list. Entire process and staff was spot on. Cant fault it, just gotta get knee better now !! Well done and thank you everyone
Starting from Front reception, I haven't got a clue how they've been recruited. The young lady who is on duty was there as though she has been forced to sit there or she doesn't like her work, reminded me of Carol Beer from Little Britain.Next when I went for an MRI, the radiologist is not the one who you'd prefer in this life, being a skinny person my veins are an easy catch and this man couldn't get it even on the fourth time, fourth! time, I bore the pain four times when he was trying to get stent into my vein.Consultant was absolutely fine and even fantastic and very professional.

Had to lodge a complaint about one of the consultants. Received a letter saying i would receive a response within 20 working days. Did not get any response so after chasing it finally received a letter giving me a phone number to ring to try and sort things out. Still haven't managed to contact anyone even after leaving numerous messages. Very poor communication which is very frustrating.
Have used Springfield numerous times this year. Historically (pre Ramsey) it was a great private hospital sadly not any longer. As always medical staff are absolutely great unfortunately thats where it ends. We, as a family pay a small fortune every month for private healthcare although we now get nothing more than NHS patients; other than possibly a slightly shorter wait time (I am not for an instant suggesting NHS patients in any way deserve inferior treatment just that Ramsey are overstretched treating them in a small private hospital) . The rooms are a mess, the heater wasnt working in my sons room so a plug in electric one was balanced on the windowsill, he also had a large hole in his wall and extremely tatty chair and bedcovers no staff member stayed with him to use the bathroom post op. She left with a cheery let me know when youve used the toilet and I can get you discharged unfortunately he collapsed cracking his head which delayed his discharge. You cant park in the carpark and over the last 2 appointments my daughter has attended there has beena total waiting time of 4.5 hours!!You often have to wait a long time at reception, this means with the time spend trying to park you need to get there much earlier than should be necessary. There is a desk for premium patients but it isnt used. There is such a queue of lucrative to Ramsey NHS patients that you wait for ages then cant get a seat in the waiting room. My niece had surgery there but as part of a cost cutting exercise the specialist nurse she required post op was replaced with a single nurse covering 1 or 2 days a month at Ramsey hospitals all over the country resulting in her being admitted via A&E to another hospital. My partner has had 3 operations there this year and all 3 of our children have attended for consultations/appointments so I am very aware of what I am talking about. Springfield has gone from a pleasant small private hospital to a purely a money making venture which is being done at the expense of patients. I understand improvements are to be made so well have to wait and see although Im not too hopeful.
