I usually eat my lunch at the Bogaz when I visit Chelmsford for business. They have a rich menu which full of great meals and delicious desserts to every taste. The grills are amazing, and a wide range of starters also great. Almost half of the menu consists of vegetarian meals. I highly recommend vegetarian kebab. Bogaz is a fine dining restaurant which has a good ambience and a nice choice for a business lunch. They have also a nice upper floor which you can arrange private dining and meeting events.
I have been to the Rayleigh branch of Bogaz and could not recommend enough. We booked a table at the Chelmsford branch simply because it was more central for some of the diners. We shall not be doing so again. The food was as expected....I have only on one occasion been to a Turkish and been disappointed with the quality of the food. The service was appalling. Our table was booked for 7.30, and whilst perhaps a couple of members of the group did not arrive until 7.45, at 8.15 we had to call a waiter over for our order to be taken. The starters came quickly enough, but the order had not been taken correctly and we had to ask for another meze platter. Regrettably we had to wait some time for our started dishes to be cleared, and then even longer for the main courses to be served. One of the main course meze platters simply did not arrive until everyone else had finished eating, and after asking the waiter about it a number of times. He then had the audacity to suggest that it was never actually ordered and the reason it was so later was because we had added it....even though he told us it would be coming shortly when serving the rest of the main courses. Avoid this branch, head to the Rayleigh one.
A good experience. Warm,comfortable and welcoming. No pressure. Food good. Staff very friendly, experienced and knowledgable. Good menu. Excellent choice for special occasion.
Rather disappointed that the 3 course meal for 18advertised on the website was not available On Sunday 23rd Dec. The 3 course Xmas meal for 30was however very good with plenty of fresh, hot and cold food being served. Waiting staff were friendly and service was good, although the restaurant was virtually empty. Would definitely go back.
Nice venue, staff accommodating and service good. Food however found to be average to good but evening menus pricing is way over the top for this type of food. I dined with a group and had a simple mixed lamb skewer and kofte kebab which was served with mixed rice and some garnish and that was 18 plus a small bottle of sparkling water at 3.50 (no starter or dessert) plus service charge and I had some change out of 30 quid!. Disappointed to say the least. I do understand though they have a lower cost lunch time menu.
