I had an oil service booked with Chelmsford Autos based on the good reviews I read. I turned up at 9am as advised to find no one there, I phoned the number and the guy answered and advised he was out on a recovery job and to leave the keys in a postbox next to the front gate. I wasn't really into doing that so said I would leave the whole thing. He then asked me what job it was and when I told him I got the impression through his tone of voice with me that he couldn't care less, had it been a bigger job I suspect he may have tried a bit harder to persuade me to keep with the work. The conversation then turned to how could I get back to the city if I did leave the car as this place is in one of those industrial estates way out, which isn't necessarily a problem, on the website in big yellow/red boxes advises you that they do drop offs, he advised to get a taxi and 'what did I expect'. Maybe I just got this guy on a bad day which we all have but it was so unprofessional and he basically just ignored the fact I was due to arrive in the morning above all else. As a business owner myself I would demand more of myself towards my customer service than was delivered by Chelmsford Autos, as noted above they do have great reviews so it's a shame I had such a negative experience with them. I can in no way judge their price/quality of work.
Been to chelmsord autos for repairs ever since I passed my driving test. Will is an excellent mechanic, never over charges and is always very friendly. Would definitely recommend 100%
